He is cute to look at but sad he will always have health problems. But what do breeders care? They will get big bucks for their breeding mistakes and then continue to fill the shelters.
Maybe they should not be bred to look certain ways, but they ARE here, they DO need love and care, they DO make loving, sweet and wonderful companions. We have had three “normal” bullies and numerous Frenchies in our family, and they are worth every penny we ever spent on them, and it has been such a wonderful part of our lives. It probably is not right to breed them in ways that are harmful to them, but the ones already here should be loved and cared for. AND THEY ARE EXCEPTIONALLY BEAUTIFUL, OKAY? That pup is one of the most adorable dogs I have ever seen, breeding mistake or not. It is not his fault and he deserves to be adored like all bulldogs. Anyway, it takes a special person to appreciate a BULLDOG!
for those of you who think its cute, read the message! its a Merle Bulldog, was returned to Southern California Bulldog Rescue. Stop breeding against the breed standard. Merle is deadly for Bulldog.
Pretty color, but I’m not in favor of anything that may damage a dogs health or life span. Leave them alone and let them be what they are supposed to be. All dogs are beautiful enough the way God designs them.
Ethical breeders don’t breed color or crossbreed for Merle for reason. It doesn’t do any favor to the breed standard. It affects health and the immune system. Dogs like this have short lifespan and always suffer from all kinds of health disorders due to weak immunity. Merle has never been in Bulldog gene. It’s a crossbreed dog.
I have never bought a dog from anyone. I have taken in strays and did just fine with them. The best sweetest dog I ever had was a pure bred Border Collie who just showed up at my house one day and wouldn’t leave. She was beautiful. Couldn’t find out who she belonged to so I kept her and she gave me so much love and affection as well as protecting my house that I could never have asked for another dog so good. After she died my son-in-law brought me a 6 week old pug and I fell in love all over again. I still miss my Border Collie, Lady even today though. No matter how much I love my Pug Bugsey, I will never forget Lady.

All the health problems of merle animals, added to the load of health problems common to bulldogs. Way to go idiot breeders.
