Kim and I were walking across the bridge in old Jefferson town a couple years ago when our dogs scared up a peacock from down in the creek. He came up out of the brush and startled the hell out of us as he landed on the handrail about 3 feet from me. He didn’t seem to be afraid of us too much. After a few minutes he took off and flew down by the pond. One of the most beautiful creatures on this planet to say without a doubt!
Watching this peacock flying so beautifully, makes me wonder if there were ever any connection of them to the flying dinosaurs that were found to have been feathered?
I have seen 2 or 3 flying..
Some neighbors in Amboy had come that would come to visit….they were also loud and vocal…hard to believe something that big could fly….
Yes ! While I visited Belize , I believe , we would hear the peacocks calls very early in the morning . Watch them fly in and spread their beautiful feathers !!
Amazing vision !!
Used to live in an area populated by many peacocks , peahens and their offspring. Boy do I have stories to tell about the experience. One thing I will say relative to this video is these birds hate to fly, aren’t very good at it and will only undertake the exercise when absolutely necessary.
Have you ever seen your husband fold the washing?
Looks like something out of the film Avatar
Yes, today I saw a pig flying

When I was raising peacocks I DID see them fly. You have to see where they land so you watch every second of flight.
Always seen them in zoos, no flying , but yet why not ?
They do have wings , even chickens can fly some
No. I’ve never seen one fly at all. All I see them do is stand around and the males show off their beautiful colors while the females look in aw.
