A big ol pit bull was not what I was searching for when I visited the local animal shelter 14 years ago. A handler wanted me to meet a very friendly dog. When she brought him into the room, he ran up to me, climbed in my lap, put his head under my neck and started whimpering. ” Bailey” was my heart, my loyal friend for over 8 years before he died of cancer. I was chosen.
I truly believe that they find us. I was looking for a full grown Male dog last year at an adoption event and I saw this beautiful dog who looked so sad in the corner so I called him over and he literally hugged me. Then the person working the event told me that the kennel had been labeled wrong and it was actually a female. So I went in looking for a 3 year old Male and went home with a 12 week old female. It was love at first sight.
My dog walked up to me and I picked her up and she rested her head right in the crook of my neck like a hug. I adopted her right away. Such a sweet girl. We named her Pippa.
As I waited in the small dog Room to see if a family was going to adopt a blonde yorkie I felt something on my shoulder. The woman who was working in that Room looked up and said my God that dog never comes to the front of her cage. I think you’ve been chosen. I sat down in a chair and the worker put the little for pound Chihuahua in my lap. She fell asleep. I took her home. She had been abused all of her life and that ended immediately.
That is true I lost my daughter I went to the pet store with my oldest daughter and this little dog kept on crying for me I went over to Pet the dog he was crying and then I went to another pet and he was there again and he seen me he came running and jumped into my lap he’s the best dog ever.. I think my daughter sent him to me 🐕
Thats what l would do as well….Problem is, l would probably bring them all home. 😯

That is like what happened in 2009 …we went to a rescue shelter ..where my husband asked to see the mini poodles found in the ice storm and they couldn’t separate them .. He was sitting down when they brought them out..they both jumped into his lap….the lady whipped out a camera so fast , we thought we saw flames….needless to say….we ended up with both of them…they were supposedly 4 yrs at that time….we lost the white one this past Dec. 2018 , blind deaf and diabetic. The black is having some issues with a back leg….but is spoiled…. When they were found , their hair was so long they looked like round balls of fur…and they were chipped but the people said they were not theirs…..it showed they were 4yrs old…..
We had two other dogs at the time , but they passed about three or four years ago…
I lost my pekinese on a Sunday afternoon And the vetsaid you’ll not make it through the night…go to PAWS, in Tinley Park and see if there is a dog there for you
He found her….search was over…..finally he could rest without fear! Congratulations to the both of them!!
It’s always perfect to let the dog pick you as this dog did, they will devote the rest of their life to you and love you forever.
Some times the animal will pick it’s owner.
Many of us would have reacted in the same way. Makes me believe that love at first sight is actually “ a thing”.
Awe. He found his forever home. I’m sure he will be loved much.
I believe in always letting the dog or cat choose me at an adoption site; not the other way around. This process has never let me down over several decades.

I remember when we be been looking for a new dog ,we went to the shelter and I had picked the one I thought I may like ,Virgil day in the chair and Lady climbed into his lap the rest is history we came home with lady and for 14years she lived with us
he knew right away he was home he could feel the love that’s way he went to sleep he knew
I serve as a volunteer in an animal shelter…I have met so many wonderful dogs…it is tough because you can feel their sadness and confusion, but also great when they are adopted to a wonderful new home…
Looks like he knows who will love him…Thank God for people like you…🙏🙏🙏🐕🐕🙏🙏🙏

Spain has a lot to answer for as far as animal cruelty. They have laws against ANIMAL CRUELTY. But are flaunted by the Local. Police .

Good we also adopted a pedenco from Spain they are the loveliest of dogs and so mistreated there. Hope this one is very happy with you , they know who loves them
