Hated typing. Never did master it. Always had to look at the keys. LOL. I know I know that was taboo.
When I had typing class I like it it help when I was drafted in to the Army
Could do 110 words a minute. Computer keyboard as slow as mollass
I LEARNED ON A MANUAL TYPEWRITER!! 55-60 WPM. ELECTRIC TYPING TEST FOR A JOB 95-100 WPM.
Me. I went to bed with my fingers going asdf🤔ghjkl:
I couldn’t type without looking at the keyboard. I was a terrible typist😂
Hunny, this is a modern version. I worked on the old fashioned manual Royal Typewriters.
Early morning class, them weren’t the days!😢
Ones we learned on were not electric..
I wasn’t so lucky–I didn’t have electric and could still type 82 words a minute with one error!! Like to see someone do that today
Yes I remember with manual typewriters vividly. Took typing II on Electric typewriter.
Yes,at school.was made to cover the machine (manual model), with a plastic cover and then try (operative word in my case.lol),to type a sentence just by remembering where each character was on the keyboard. Never learned that way.taught myself years later on an electric typewriter
We didn’t have IBM Selectrics to type on, we used manual typewriters!
LOL! Mine included a manual typewriter. I took it in summer school in 1964,lasted 3 classes. Spent 21 years in the Air Force maintaining teletype machines. To this day I can’t type.
65 words per minute with less than five mistakes!
Underwood manuals sophomore year and IBM selectrics in my junior year. Graduated in 1962.
IBM Selectric typewriters. The best.
Me. Loved it. Keyboardist skills should still be taught.
Only the girls used the new electric typewriters. Boys weren’t trusted with them yet!
I dropped home ec. To take typing. Wrong move!! I never became a good typist, but am a pretty good homemaker!!
I remember them playing Colonel Bogey so we could get rhythm and all the good looking police cadets who were students n the shorthand class. Good Old Miss Hayle
Two years of typing and one year of secretarial practice. Typing letters that had been dictated. Hard class.
I never took it but my sister loved it. I am not sure how good she got bvt i know she liked it
i typed 98 words a minute but my best friend typed 99. Who remembers shorthand?
Of course; I taught the class. Those IBM Electrics were real prizes!
Oh how well I remember. My fingernails were long and the teacher kept trying to get me to cut them, so I could “type better”. But I passed the class, that’s what was important to me!!!!
Took typing as long as I could, and I am so glad I did
Started on manual and was so excited when we went to electric!
My teacher was mr tucker! He was the best 😊
I remember having the timed typing tests. We had to be able to type so many words per minute without having any typing errors. It was fun though!
I hate to admit it, but learning basic typing helped me in all of my jobs!
