Do you? :)
Do you? 🙂
And you I can hear mama hollering DON’T GO SO HIGH, YOU MIGHT TUMP OVER….
Or the chains go slack you swing so high. And then they jerk you when tension against them comes back as you drop.
My mom turned round and round on a swinging ship when she was jung
You swing until it came off the ground.
like Arlene said “if it didn’t lift, you weren’t doing it right “😆
Remember Andrew Patton (or you may not😆) when the poles from a swing lifted so far out and the whole set landed on your head?!!!😳🙄 Patricia Patton…..
Yep, I did that even though it scared the crap out of me
If it didn’t lift, you weren’t doing it right.😁
Such a thrill now a days kids either don’t try or need mom or dad when it’s going to high👍🏼
Me fell off busted up my lip cried and got back on the ext day still like to swing only slower
Yes me and my brothers had a conrest everytime to see who could do it first
Me, me! It scared me, but I always went back for more.🤪
Not when your Father secured them to cement blocks, buried them and put more cement on top…..we could go as high as we wanted!
And then tipped over and pinned me under the top bar! 😵
O yes definitely 😆😆Great times back then
Yes, I liked to try a make the swing go all the way around with me still n it. Hahahahaha 🙋♀️
I do— almost took my sisters big toe smooth off…. she was standing on the side watching me and another friend. Horrible !!!!
Yup swing high as you could go and sometimes your rear lifted off the seat! Fun times for sure ❤️
Faster you swing the higher the poles lifted off the ground.
Yep. And I can still hear the thumping!
My husband took cinder blocks and broke out the middle of them, then dug a hole and cemented the swing set in it.
Unless you had a good solid homemade swing set. #Mydadthewelder
I remember that too – we lived in exciting times
Health & saftey brigade would have a fit now days!
We tried to get them out of the ground.
I managed to tip the whole thing over a couple times. My Dad finally cemented it down
That looks like my girls way back, swinging in the swings at great grandma;s house!!!!! Memories!!!!
My brother and I were swinging hard one summer morning and the swing set went over backward and I landed on my back with the bolt holding the chain though my lower jaw. Trip to hospital for stitches and calming of this 6 year old. Brother jumped free.
Back swinging in a week.
We also went so high we could jump over the pricker bushes, we prayed we made it over
I did it so many times, my uncle, cemented the poles into the ground because I toppled it so many times!
Only way to swing. Those were the good old days. 😄
We used to swing as high as we could and then jump off the swing. The last t8me I did that the swing came out of the ground and I turned around to look and the top bar of the swing knocked me out when it hit me in the gut. I was 10 years old. I will still swing but no jumping for this senior citizen.
yep. loved our old swing and mum still has it for growing beans in the vegetable garden!
Saw pic of park swing that holds child wheel chair. What a fabulous idea.
We had those swings at our grade school and they always lifted when we went high.
Yes ours would lift – we had one similar to this – the 7 of us plus many cousins loved it !!!! Swing – swing – do flips on the ends !!
My Bill loved to every time he saw one!
Mine did and I wore through a chain loop more than once!! Loved swinging.

My dad put this swing set up. Had great fun. Yes the poles came up. Didn’t bother me in the least.
My Dad was really smart. He cemented ours into the ground. We spent a lot of time swinging, we would twist up in the chains then spin around until we were sick. Sometimes we swung so high we almost went over the top!
Loved them….gooood times for all of us☺
Yes, it’s something is it not, how time and living life fully make wonderful memories for us to enjoy! 😶😊❤️🇺🇸
That was the only way to swing and my Mom always worried. As usual as kids we were fearless.

My brother and I would try to see who could go the highest.
