Who else remembers? 🙂
I remember going to St Teresa’s nursery with nun’s who frightened me to death. They made us sleep on fold up campbeds with itchy grey blankets, i will never forget it until the day i die.
Can we please have this done for Congress, they need it.
We had to put our head on the table and told to sleep, hated it boring! Probably the teacher snook off to have nooky with headmaster 👎
I hated it! Now there learning algebra instead!🤣
We didn’t have mats, had to lie our heads on the desk
HA totally! And we looked up the teachers skirts too OH NO lol
It would probably still be a good idea.
Hated that. Could not stay still for that nonsence. I did but was very difficult. Rather have re ezs
I remember when kindergartners GOT to take naps….got to unwind….
Yep, there I am listening to the Ghost with the golden arm. 👻
E, and I even remember how much I loved my red rug.
We didn’t take naps.. We went to Catholic school..
That was like my infant school, All Saints, Southport, Lancashire, now Merseyside England.
I was in kindergarten in both Florida and Michigan and we did not take naps in either place.
I hated it. Had to take a nap at the babysitters and at school then couldn’t sleep at night. I think this caused sleeping problems for me for years. Never could sleep at night.
Look our kids are sleeping on the floor
I do and being a social little person, I hated the naps!
No kindergarten where I grew up. You just went right to first grade. You napped and learned at home😊
Every kid lays on their stomach? Yeah ok….you sure this isnt just one of Trump’s child death camps?
Had Miss Boyle for kindergarten at Upland Elementary in 1955. Spent most of the time in the thinking chair with my head down . Couldn’t stand that woman. Secound worst teacher I ever had.
Yes Rita & I did this in 42nd street Nursery School, but we had cots, Rita cried, she hated nap time, wanting to play.
I went to K in 1931 & we had to have mats (our own) & lay on them quiet every afternoon for 10 minutes
I don’t because I never went to kinder garden, I started school at age five in the first grade, and it was boring, i knew how to read since I was four, and writing on that yellow paper with the wide lines seemed dull and a nap was wanted, but recess occurred.
Didn’t we just put our heads down on the table in Mrs Calhoun’s class??
I went home at lunchtime for the day. Some schools allowed students to go home for lunch and return after lunch
We had a chubby hole with our name and that is where we stored them. 1954/55. Country school in Minnesota
I think that’s me on the floor in the front with the blonde pigtails and the bobby socks and saddle shoes ! Lol
I remember when got a snack with milk and then we laid down.
You forgot we also had to hide under chairs or desks in case of nuclear attack
We had our straw mats stored in a huge box, napped up to 6th grade. Hated it, couldn’t wait until I got to 7th grade, no napping, but you know what — wished for nap time.
