That bear has been a well loved, best friend. After all the adventures, trips & washings, why would someone expect it to look the same as the Bear also bought 30 years ago? Were you there for the purchase, do you look the same as you did years ago, or do you just enjoy calling the person who posted this a liar?
My daughter has Charlie Brown that my husband bought her for Christmas. She recently purchased Lucy that went missing in our backyard fifty eight years ago. Some things have meaning to us and we need this for our lives.
I have a teddy I bought myself when I was in college – tuppence, he had a tartan ribbon, but the ribbon changed to check, not quite the same – but he’s still with me.
Suggest brother might pass his original to his child and, keeping it (somewhat) clean, hope the tradition continues. Using the stored one as a backup to perpetuate the tradition for generations, with more backups to continue.
I still have my Teddy bears as my Mother saved them. They are 65 years old and very tattered and because she saved them for so long I now can’t part with them.
I did that when my kids were small. Gave just lately a stuffed Bunny to my Grandchild for my great grandchild. The Bunny was 24 yrs.old and well preserved.

My daughter has the bear my mom gave her 28 years ago and I have the back up twin to it. Just in case, 😉
Love this. But for heaven’s sakes, that one teddy bear looks so ragged. I have a teddy bear that I bought 42 years ago- still looks brand new. 😉
David Peters – I was hoping you could do this. Your mom saved a lot of your toys and you gave them away.
Thaaaaat’s definitely not the same bear.
They are not identical bears, one is smaller, has different arms and feet
Radar O’Riley would be proud. We are happy for your family.
So why didn’t she purchase two for the writer of this when she/he was born?
See how the aging process works when out in the world and not in storage.
I’ve done the same for my youngest son.
Looks like one went through the wringer! Lol
The one on the left has been well loved he has aged well xx
The one on the left looks very much loved. I hope the one on the right has a similar fate.
