I wouldn’t want a pet door anywhere. We have raccoons, fox, coyotes, etc., that could fit through those. I don’t want any critter like that in my house.
OMG… I am moving to Florida, but will NOT have a Pet door. In fact, I will have a pool with an enclosure to keep the gators and others out. I know that gators could probably break through the screened enclosures. I will have to see if I can get some reinforcement put around the bottom of the enclosure to keep everything out.
I was born in Fort Lauderdale FL. A lot of people go there to get away from the snow in the winter. I have never lived in the north so can’t make a comparison. Never had any animal try to get in my parents house though in FL. Florida much better than Texas. I love pet doors. Had one in Texas and have one now where we live in New Mexico.
This is just ONE reason I don’t live in Florida. Other reasons include snakes /alligatores coming up in your toilet, bugs, humidity, bugs (again). nuff said.
saw on National geo last night that there are man eating snakes now appearing in Florida . Put them with the gators and the sink holes and it is a dangerous place to be i think !!
I recall encountering a large one of these in my In-laws back yard on New Years Eve eons ago when they had retired and moved to Cape Coral Florida. Needless to say I Sh*t My Pants I believe faster than anytime in my life. I did manage to use a long swimming pool cleaner pole to encourage it to go back into the canal it had came from prior to spending quite a bit of time cleaning myself up. The next morning I simply told my wife and kids we are on our way back to Ohio. We may have a few rattlesnakes and copperheads to deal with but Nothing like this.
Oh my God! I don’t think we live close enough to where gators would be. That’s e kind of doggie door we have so I’m sure one could fit. My adult grandson firs through it.
That doesn’t really happen, but it is a cute post. Up north you have to worry about skunks, coyotes, bears, raccoons, possums, neighbors kids and drunks.
Maybe, he wasbaacking out, the whole length, Carl. I am in Maine, most I had besides my cats, was a groundhog, to my back porch, for a few hours, he was kinds cute, or I would have thrown him out sooner. He has since moved, he hated the used cat litter poured down his hole!
Well, our pet door is on the front porch door but closed off as we don’t have any pets now. I never even thought of this happening! Love you Wanda Manske! 😘
I’m glad my yard is fences…..I have had racoons, a possum, and strange cats enter my cat/dog door on my porch, but no alligators or bears or squirrels .🐊🍀
A racoon came through our doggie door one time. We then got a special door where our dog had a tag on her collar which would the open the door. Never a problem again.
If the gator is coming, then why is the flap on its back? Should be on its nose!

Shit damm you couldn’t pay me to live in Florida
You know I look at this picture again someone pointed out flap on the back, ok looking closer I bet ya it’s stuffed, look at the eye not looking at ya!

That door is big enough for a man to get through, a fat man, plus half the animal kingdom. What pet do these people have?
I come from Florida yes having a pet door not a good idea cuz gators aren’t the only things that come in trust me

I’m from south Louisiana and we have literally been woke up because the dogs were barking and going nuts because a gator was in our yard

My ex installed one of these when I left I just thought this was a picture of her coming home from work.
There’s the perfect advertisement for a “tiny “ puppy …if a baby gator gets in – much lesser threat & an easier catch …
For me, bugs are, for the most part, a nuisance to me when they’re in the house! Keep the gators in Fla. Too dangerous!
You are pretty observing . I have a pet door in WV , and it would be going in the opposite direction .
Kaity Fenton the gator is like “hey man! What’s up! Can I come in and watch criminal minds with you and eat ranch popcorn!”
What the hell kind of a pet door is that? Any burglar could enter there.
Great idea if you need new shoes..
That my friends is why you have an electronic door for your pets, collar operation
thank god we don’t have one of these!!
I know that Gators can get in strange place , but giving the fact that they move fast . Just how the heck did this person get this picture?
I thought this gator is real. It’s not. Enlarge the picture!😂
Yes not a good idea in Florida if you live near ponds, lakes or canals.

Install an automatic push-button door, but with an intercom so you can ask who it is first.
WOW….no door!!!!no Florida!!!
In Florida for sure. Has no one watch Komodo Dragon
Love Florida weather but the rest they can keep!
No doggy doors in Florida.
Yikes..luckily do not have one but I bet not just in Florida.
That’s what you fine here in Florida at times !!!
