I think it describes how anyone feels after losing a loved one. I had a period when my Mom, Dad, Nephew, Wife’s father and my dog of 10 years all died in a 3 week period. When I look at this it conveys exactly how I felt for a long, long time.
Emptiness is always there, when you lose someone you love, whether it is your child or not. It may be your parent, spouse, friend or pet. Emptiness is the same, no hierarchy, if you really love.
I know i commented before but this is the best sculpture ever i think every person has felt this emptiness i know it is just an awful feeling God will Help
Beautiful and so expressive this sculpture is and xxxxoooo to all dealing with the loss of a loved one is hard and I feel for anyone who has lost a child I can not imagine what that’s like
A branch of my family has a plot in Lutheran Cemetery, Queens, NY. There is a small headstone that reads, simply, “Willie.” That child died as a little kid, probably 6 or 7, in the early part of the 1900s. There is no last name on the stone, nor dates of birth and death. Just “Willie.” No one now seems to know anything about him, but I wonder if his parents grieved just as long and hard as anyone else. My father, a contemporary of this child, used to say that the old folks would say, “…and he was the best one of the bunch…” RIP, Willie.
You just feel empty all of the time You never get over it you just learn to live with it and Holidays are the worst and Halloween is worse because that was my Daughters birthday Love and Miss you Tonys
So stunning and powerful!! It is something no parents ever wants to go thru, and it takes you right there in this amazing statue!!! I feel the pain that it brings, so much sadness and beauty all in one!!!
No one knows the emptiness unless they have been through it

Where could you find something like this?

This sculpture makes me want to cry. It is so expressive.
doesn’t matter the age of the child
And the emptiness never fills in, sadly. You laugh at funny things, and listen to other people’s problems, bu you are always terribly sad deep within.
Finally…art that makes sense
So true! Going through this now. No pain like losing a child.
That is how I felt after my husband passed
Kind of says it all. You feel totally empty inside.
This pretty much is how you feel after losing your child. And the whole never gets any smaller.
a good representation of the pain and emptiness
I would wake up at say snight crying however I didn’t know it was me crying it was like watching someone else crying weird to say the least
This statue says it all, brilliant
That’s true also when you lose husband
Excellent depiction of hole in the soul
This is a great work of art you immediately feel the despair the artist wanted to convey.
Scary to think about it but it’s so many people’s reality
So true I can feel the pain
So sad but true !! Can not imagine the sorrow and grief parents must endure!! God Bless them all !!
I feel like that most of the time and I haven’t even lost a child thank God
Beautiful and heartbreaking.

Yes! That’s how all of us would feel.😩😩
I’ve never lost a child thank God , but this seems to sum it all up .
To many friends that lost a child, I’m always praying for your lost ones. This monument is prof of how I bet you feel. God bless their souls.
You can feel the sorrow and desolation just looking at it.
Someone that good at art maybe could do something to remember the gift of the life the loved one shared with us
I lost my dad in 2016, mom in 2017, son in 2018…. l can not get over loosing my son…. much more sorrow.
Yes, after I lost my child, this is what it felt like!

That is how you feel. It hurts beyond words when it happens. The second time just knocks the life out of you.

A good depiction of how it must feel!!
This is how mom and dad must have felt after losing my brother at 20 years old to a heart attack… it’s been 60 years and I still miss him😔
I thought it was a ginormous Tonsil.
I would love that as the beginning to my portfolio. 💝💞💜💛💙💚💗❤👍🤘👅👀❤💘
