I was dispatched to an area in SW Albuquerque one dark,cold, and windy night about 2030 ref a “bear “ that was approaching a residential neighborhood. I thought the person who called may have seen a large dog and thought it was a bear. I finally found it at the post office in Paradise Hills, I wondered if I could get my leg irons on him. I got my leg irons and changed out my ammo in my pistol from .44 special to.44mag and my shot gun from buckshot to slugs (12 ga) and stepped out my vehicle. The “dog” stood on his hind legs and he was taller than me. I got back in my vehicle and requested animal control for assistanc, Animal control. Eventually showed up and we resumed the chase. The bear escaped out of Albuquerque and I. Went home at the end of my shift. It was a fun adventure
