I had one like this in the Savuti, Botswana bush that my hubby built, no lid but a gorgeous view overlooking the Savutii river.
I saw a huge boulder then my brain told me there were no noulders in Savuti. I jumped up & the hippo jumped up too & we both ran in opposite directions!!

two summers ago, I did a 7 day white water rafting trip down the Colorado, through the grand canyon, the “rest room facilities” was an aluminum box with a seat on it, set out in the wilderness away from the camp site, there were some spectacular views from that portable throne…

That’s a toilet straight out of one of my worst nightmares. You need to go, but all the toilets in the world is open and so people can look. This one, there WILL be a group of hikers just appearing and, I’m dead.
All the years I spent hunting or fishing, this wasn’t available. What if it’s raining? Next a roof will be needed to protect from rain. If there’s heavy wind? Walls will be needed. May as well just build an outhouse and let the door open.

there is one of these on the lower saddle of the Tetons at around 10,000 feet. The park service take the tank out by helicopter each year.
