Screaming Trees Mark Lanegan and the Band's Onstage Meltdown

Nowadays the gormless turds that call themselves rock bands would probably hoover the stage then scrub it after a gig then ask the owner if they did a good job.

Lanegan doesn’t talk about this in his book. He does admit to being a nasty drunk however!

I think a lot of people are taking this like it happened last week instead of almost 30 years ago. Definitely embarrassing and most people have at least one alcohol induced cringe moment but luckily not one so public. There’s a chapter about this in Mark’s book and he describes it as something he very much thought he was stupid to do. Also you shouldn’t take his drunken flailing around as his normal state as he’s quite formidable and is not to be fucked with. He described it as “a lame attempt to square off looking like a drunk boxer in a sped up silent movie”😆

One of the greatest bands and an incredible singer. Kurt kinda screwed them. Go Mark!

Screaming Trees are one of my favorite bands but that was some punk ass bullshit right there. He clearly doesn’t know how to fight and lucky he didn’t get his ass kicked or seriously hurt someone in the crowd. But most people could probably use at least one do over.

Kurt Cobain did his friends a great disservice. It was a very selfish thing of him to do to place his “friends” in such an unnatural placement and amount of pressure. They should have opened and they would have put on a great show. Selfish of Cobain.

I like Mark Lanegan. He’s a good singer, but he was being a proper dick here.

I liked Screaming Trees a lot better than Lanegan’s solo career

Next to Nirvana, the only other band I liked from the ‘scene’ where the Screaming Trees. Pearl Jam etc never did it for me.

Screaming trees are my favourite of these bands

I remember once my friend and my sister and I went to see Queens of the Stone Age play and my sister was waiting around the back entrance afterward to see if any of them came out. She said Lannegan came out and a teenage girl asked for his autograph and he gave the most disgusted look and just walked off without a word. 😆

I just wanna point out the band was phenomenal and mark was the main problem with his addictions. I interviewed Gary lee Conner recently. Talk shit about the asshole singer not the band guys cmon

Lanegan has always been a bit of a diva. He’s been distancing himself from his Screaming Trees work for years for some reason. Which is too bad because they were a great band.

That was oddly not cool. hm. Just read about this in the book. 😀

Some meltdowns have character, some have integrity, some are hilarious, some are principled, some are drunken buffoonery, some are egomaniacal horseshit, that one defies categorisation or an explanation
