Logic: Genuine Inspiration Through Authenticity
Sir Robert Bryson Hall, more famously known as the rapper Logic, has become a massive success who seemingly goes against the grain when it comes to the subject matter of his lyrics. Through songs like 1800-273-8255 and albums like The Incredible True Story, Everybody, and Sinatra IV he has grown from an underground rapper from the Maryland scene into one the biggest names in rap currently. Logic makes incredibly genuine and inspirational music, and against all odds that has worked. Except when it hasn’t.

I’m definitely not one to speak, but if you’re looking for artists to cover, you could try maybe the Dreamville camp (Bas, Earthgang, JID), The New Fugees (Smino, Saba, Noname), or Artists signed to vanity labels (Shady, Dreamville, Top Dawg) vs. Corporate Labels (Def Jam, Island Records, etc.)? Just a few options. However, I caught wind of your channel through CDTV. I saw your Lil Dicky and Gambino videos a while back, but I never thought to subscribe until the Kamikaze video. Dope shit, bro. Keep up the good work, my guy.
Amazing video yet again, keep it up boi!

I’m just happy to say I’m part of your first 500 subscribers
Ayyeeee my dude posting videos again. Good shit
Beautiful video. I feel as though u have a really nice presence in ur vids, u defo feel like more than just a voice if u know what I mean. Any chance in the future of a video on a goat called kanye west? (Preferably kids see ghosts or Ye, I feel like people let his controversies over shadow his art last year)
Also how do u only have 1733 subs!??!
I’m just curious, is logic bi-racial?
I’m asking for a friend
I like how you posted it on Logic’s birthday too
Firstly, I love your videos and could not have clicked this faster.
Logic was my most played artist of 2018 on Spotify and I grew up 10 minutes from his neighborhood in Maryland so I am saying this as a big fan but do you think that Logic’s authenticity permeates the rest of his work outside of Everybody?
I think that the incredible true story and under pressure are amazing albums and I am also one to look at the writers’ credits to see how much we are really getting the message directly from the artist. It is clear that, at this point in his career, logic really displayed his skill and authenticity (without much outside influence) so I have been really happy to see him blow up. That said Logic admittedly takes from the sound and flow of Southern Trap in his Bobby Tarantino mixtapes and YSIV seems just as manufactured as Everybody. Personally, I am a fan of Logic’s brand of pop-rap and liked all of these projects but I have a hard time seeing why Everybody is worse. The way I see it either Logic is strongly controlled by his label and forced into all the latest trends or he is trying to be a jack of all trades. Either way, I agree with you that Logic needs to find a path of his own if he wants to be remembered as a GOAT rather than an imitator.
Another criticism of Logic’s music that I see as potentially more important is that he doesn’t dive into the philosophical or personal aspects of his messages like peace love and positivity. Much like you listed the generic topics that Logic raps about on Everybody, I think the way Logic raps about peace love and positivity leaves something to be desired. Just look at how Eminem raps about toxic love whether present in himself or his fans (Stan is clearly a work of art and testament to the ladder). Look at how Kendrick raps about peace in Good Kid M.A.A.D. City where he addresses the reasons for conflict and urges peace through his messages. Diving deeper into these emotions/messages has always been something Logic could improve on. The rags to riches story is a compelling foundation but too often the message of peace love and positivity is agreeable but lacking a true artistic statement.
Usually I don’t come across someone previously said to be “underrated” by friend or peer and that person actually being as described. But you, you are one of the few I could actually rationally deem underrated. This video is very well put together and is at a level I one day hope to achieve, Ive just started this channel and although I only got one video, ill keep producing to soon be where you’re at.
I love Logic.
