Hey Levy, I just want to ask you ,when you are prepairing for a tournament and trying to get better at chess, why are you playing (previously I think 10min games) 5min games? I thought that the general opinion is playing fast chess is good to maybe try an opening and for quick tactics ,but lack strategy and deep principles behind moves. Would not be better for you to play longer games and analyze them afterwords, you could easily (I HOPE) erase one move mistakes. Anyway, wishing you all the best to the new year and good luck on your tournament
im wondering why do u play a 1200?
I like this video format so much!
LEVY WE LOVE UUU FULL SUPPORT LET’S GOOOO!!!
Grand Master? If there’s no regular master, then what’s so grand? I blame Levy for this.
Great stuff Levy. Like thousands and thousands of subscribers, I’m rooting for your success in attaining GM rating. Seeing your learning and self-evaluation process, at such a high level relatively, is an enormous help… as I attempt to decipher my own noob weaknesses.
I am looking forward to your tournament!!!! It’s a pleasure to see you play and explain your experiences!!! U r the best
Kudos to you Levy for showing games which you lose and the learnings you take from it. Refreshing change from the ‘look at me crushing opponents’ clips
NEXT TOURNAMENT HYYPE
These are great. i appreciate the ability to understand what you are seeing as you talk through the position. Its a great learning experience.
It’s so funny to see Levy hover his cursor over the knight at 41:45 and then realize that it can’t go anywhere😅
You look happy and healthy which is very great so see 😊
No grandmaster levy
I was thinking whether it would be beneficial to change the pieces in the settings to "Real 3D" during these training games so that your vision gets trained for playing OTB.
Disclaimer: I am just an amateur, but it came into my mind. 🙂
why tf are you so entertaining
Could king e7 not have worked at 16:00? Just wondering. @Gothamchess
Who’s the opponent?
What about levy’s lamp and chair? They chasing the GM as well?
Letsgooooo
I’m glad you got back to training
WHO IS IHATEROOKA4???
Hey Levy, happy New Year and all the best to you! I really enjoyed this episode, and find the format really rewarding. Your commentary is extremely helpful for me as an 1100 rated. I simply learn so much from each of your games…
love this format, very instructive vid
You can do it. I believe in you!
Levy I really hope u all the best . You are such an awesome person that deserves everything nice . Your videos are so entertaining and we enjoy them .
I have a suggestion for u why don’t you play the games without recording and then choose the nicest ones and show them with you analyzeing and explaining how did I think how did u evaluate and how your emotions were and so on
I think this would better wouldn’t it ? !!.
Really good session, Levy. I actually think your performance in this session was one of the best I’ve seen. Might have been the best training session yet — with the shorter time control. You just don’t have time to talk yourself out of good moves. I was really fascinated by your Game 3 analysis. You just second guessed yourself and wasted too many moves jostling around. Really good episode!
GM Sune Berg Hansen from GM Talks just made an analysis on whether you can become GM or not – You should check it out!
Titled player reveal when you get Grandmaster
Im wondering does actually verbally explaining your and your opponents idea help with memorisation? Might implement talking to myself if so

I m your big fan! Say : Queen sacrifice trap
@2:45 there is a Disguised GrandMaster Baiting Levy
Why resign that first game? It’s blitz he can blunder.
Good luck on your next tournament!
Need pin of shame
Lol Levy you’re good at analyzing your games but I will be honest, you made quite a bit of mistakes for an IM here XD. Also 45:33 you missed Be4, Kg1, and then Nh3 fork. If the rook takes the bishop there is no piece advantage.
Interesting games thanks Levy.
Why is your opponents rating only showing 1200?
I’m more curious about Levy’s sparring partner than I was about Carlsen’s seconds in the world championship match.
I’m intrested who this ihaterooka4 person is and which title he/she has
Video title: GM Levy?
10 years later: GM Levy?
Yeah, lets keep it real. Gm title is never going to happen. You have reached your peak. And not for the lack of effort, but the talent is just not there. You just don`t see the positions, you can memorize openings all you want, at GM level it is just not enough. You can bang your head against the wall an try to prove people wrong but that`s just wasted time. Just enjoy the game, keep making videos, have fun.
Once you’re a GM you need to play Hikaru and make him eat his words lmao
Liking seeing the serious play in this vid
Glad to see this series is back. Even if Levy recognizes that the goal of GM is not probably in the cards, I really love seeing this serious-mode content and it’s super fun to watch and root for in tournaments.
Am I blind or Levy rly looks so much like Tony Stark🤣
Levy how to deal with closed position after a london
lol thought you gave up on being a gm wouldn’t be surprised if u did honestly
Watched the whole thing! I prefer the longer time formats. Get to hear more of what goes through your head. Thanks for the episode!
A KISS is something we all need despite our rating 😉
levy is disrespecting my b6 nf6 system so hard, I beat a 2500 with this otb once. 🙁
Edit: He’s probably advertising his b6 e6 course
I love these videos
