Veritas has been helpful in disclosing information that would otherwise not be available to the public. Once these disclosures are made, many other people can then follow up to either confirm, dispute , or expand on these topics. That’s part of what Freedom of Speech is all about.

Project Veritas does more real journalism then most of the "news organizations"" they cite regularly. They don’t go into the poor journalism practices of NYT or Washington Post. But atleast you guys are covering the story.

The Hill has always been very hit and miss for me – more miss than hit a lot of times, especially since John Solomon left – but your characterization of Project Veritas’ undercover reporting is pure miss.

I’ve watched every story they’ve put out for years, and the subjects aren’t just some well-meaning buffoons being misled into saying "Trump bad" just to be social creatures. The PV undercovers give the subject the proverbial rope, then the subject always proceeds to hang themselves quite thoroughly, and always in their own words.

The only reason people suddenly have a problem with undercover reporting is because they don’t like Project Veritas. They never complained when other outlets do it, (or rather did it, since almost no one other than PV does it anymore.) However, I will at least give you points for acknowledging that Project Veritas’ reporting shouldn’t be dismissed just because it’s them. Documents and on-the-record statements speak for themselves.

Also, if the DARPA report needed further confirmation of its authenticity, when Fauci was questioned about it by Rand Paul, he acknowledged it as well.

I would want verification and input from someone who isn’t clearly hostile to the public health officials, as Murphy appears to be. One would need to rule out possible that emails were structured from the beginning to entrap or mislead. That said, I’ve had concerns about EcoHealth projects since reading Sam Husseini’s analysis in Salon in April 2020. There is enough information already to justify an investigation–an objective investigation that is not colored by political bias. This is important because the consequences of getting it wrong are grave, in my opinion as a retired WMD disaster preparedness specialist.

It almost certainly originated from the lab. We should be careful of the language we use; "leak" makes it sound accidental and that is only one possibility. Given all the evidence of prior planning, how soon until the "conspiracy theory" of a deliberate release of a bioweapon begins to be discussed openly and seriously considered.
