Privacy
What this site knows about you
Almost nothing. True Inspiring Stories is a collection of static files. There is no account to create, nothing to log in to, and no tracking built into these pages.
What we do not do
- No advertising and no advertising networks.
- No third-party tracking pixels, and no ad-tech or social widgets that profile you.
- No selling, renting or sharing of personal information.
- No accounts and no comments.
We may keep a simple, privacy-preserving count of how many people read a story — page views, referrer, rough country — so we know which stories are worth writing more of. Anything of that kind is aggregate and cookieless, and it is not used to identify or follow an individual reader. If a newsletter is ever offered it will be plain opt-in, and the address will be used for nothing but sending it.
The only script that runs on a story page is the thin reading-progress bar at the top of the screen. It reads how far down the page you have scrolled, keeps that number in the browser, and sends it nowhere. The contact page runs one other script, described below, and it only does anything when you press Send.
The contact form
The contact form is the one place on this site where you send us anything, and it only sends what you typed into it: your name, your email address, an optional subject and your message. Nothing else is attached — we do not record your IP address, and there is no cookie, no tracking identifier and no profile behind the form.
Messages are delivered straight to the people who run True Inspiring Stories and are read by them alone. They are not published, not passed to anyone else, and not added to any mailing list. Your email address is used for one thing: replying to you. The form is the only way to reach us — there is no address published on this site to be scraped, which keeps the inbox for real messages.
There are no accounts and no comments, so the form is also the only place where anything you write is stored at all — and it is stored only as the message we received.
The form’s subject list includes Data Removal. If you appear in a story on this site and would rather not, choose it and tell us which story. You do not have to explain why, and you will get a reply confirming what was taken down.
What happens anyway
The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes the technical details of a request — IP address, time, which file was asked for, the user agent string — in order to deliver the page and to protect against attacks and abuse. That handling is governed byCloudflare’s privacy policy, not by this one. We do not build profiles from it and do not use it for marketing.
Publishing to Pinterest, YouTube and Bluesky
True Inspiring Stories publishes its own stories to its own accounts on Pinterest, YouTube and Bluesky. This runs one way and involves nothing about you. Nothing a reader does on this site is sent to any of those platforms, and no reader data of any kind is shared with them.
For Pinterest specifically, the site uses the Pinterest API to publish one pin a day — an image we made, captioned with a story we wrote, linking back to the article here. It posts only to boards on our own account. It never reads, saves, repurposes or modifies anyone else’s pins, never scrapes Pinterest, and is used by one person: the owner of this site, who is also the owner of that account. The only things retained from Pinterest are the credential that lets the site post as itself, held as an encrypted secret, and the identifiers of pins this site itself created, so the same story is not posted twice. No Pinterest user data is collected, stored, shared or sold.
Leaving the site
Some pages link out to YouTube and Pinterest, and every story carries buttons for sharing it to Facebook, X, Bluesky, Pinterest, Reddit, WhatsApp or email. Once you follow one of those links you are on their property and their rules apply, including whatever they choose to collect. We do not embed their trackers here to follow you around in advance.
That is also why those buttons are ordinary links rather than the official sharing widgets. The usual ones load code from the platform into this page and can recognise you before you click anything, or even if you never do — and they make the page slower. A link sends nothing until you choose to use it. The “copy link” and “more…” buttons are handled entirely by your own browser and reach no one.
Children
This site is written for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. Since nothing is collected from anyone, nothing is collected from children either.
Stories about real people
True Inspiring Stories writes about real people, usually from published accounts, obituaries, local news and public records. If you are — or you are related to — someone described in a story and you want a correction, a detail removed, or the piece taken down, write to us and say so. Corrections are made in public and the change stays visible in thecommit history.
Changes
If this policy changes, the revised version is published here and the date below changes with it. There is no mailing list to notify, by design.
Contact
Questions, corrections and removal requests all go through thecontact form.
